Dear readers of The Part-Time Artist, it’s with great sadness that I am announcing today that I am cancelling my podcast. There will not be a season 2.
I’ve been thinking about this decision for a while. As you know, 2020 has not been kind to me, and I’ve had to make difficult choices. Due to the financial hardship that this crisis has brought, I’ve gone back to working full-time in July. This leaves me much less time for my artistic endeavours compared to when I was 100% working on the Part-Time Artist. Therefore, I have decided to focus solely on writing for the time being.
Concretely, it means that The Part-Time Artist Podcast will disappear from your usual podcast apps (Apple, Spotify, Stitcher…) after the 8th of November 2020. HOWEVER, you will still be able to listen to the episodes directly on the podcast page.
I have immensely enjoyed producing the podcast last year. It has allowed me to meet fantastic and inspiring artists, and connect with many of you in a different way. It was a lot of work, but my efforts were often rewarded with lovely messages from listeners.
I want to thank all my amazing guests for being so open and trusting with their careers and experiences. And I want to take all the people who have listened to one or more episodes. It’s been a fun ride and I regret nothing!
What’s Next for The Part-Time Artist?
As I said above, I plan on focusing on writing for the foreseeable future. I went through a very rough patch when I couldn’t write at all, and I am still not back at my usual rhythm.
My goal is to go back to a regular publication schedule for this blog, because I have many ideas for new articles! I am also starting to think about my third non-fiction book, although I will probably not begin the writing process until late 2021 at the earliest.
The cancellation of the podcast doesn’t mean that I’m done with The Part-Time Artist at all! If anything, I hope it will help me focus more and bring more advice and information to you!
Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments, and don’t hesitate to recommend topics that you’d like me to address in a future post/book!
